Prescott Developmental at Espire Sports
Espire Sports, 3400 Gateway Blvd, Prescott, AZ. 86303Our Teaching Model: We use the “TRS” method of training developed by Program Director Howard Vernick, where we teach each athlete Proper Skills Technique, On-Court Reaction/Response to game situations, and Effective Game Strategy. In our experience, we have observed that a good percentage of coaches tend to ignore one or more of these critical components in their training programs.
-
Technique – Teaching proper technique is crucial to achieving desired outcomes. Changing bad habits is very difficult so we emphasize proper techniques right from the start and hold athletes accountable for developing consistent, proper skill execution to achieve more consistent results.
-
Reaction/Response – Pickleball is a fast moving sport that requires quick reactions and decision making. Players have dynamic responsibilities that must be learned and practiced. Our drills and game like situations train athletes to react and transition quickly to every Pickleball challenge.
-
Strategy – The most advanced skill in the game is thinking strategy while on the court. Where to serve, where and how to attack, when should I dink, who should I hit to? These are all skills that are taught and learned over time to become a fully skilled and balanced Pickleball player. We seek to raise the Pickleball IQ of each athlete we work with so that athletes and teams not only learn how to play hard but also smart.
